Fix Common SparkFast Issues

If something isn’t working as expected, you’re in the right place. This troubleshooting section helps you identify and fix common SparkFast issues, including syncing, notifications, and subscription problems, so you can get back on track quickly.

Login and Account Issues

I Can't Sign In to SparkFast

If you're unable to log in to your SparkFast account, try these solutions:

Solution 1: Check Your Internet Connection
1. Ensure you have a stable Wi-Fi or cellular connection
2. Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data
3. Restart your router if using Wi-Fi

Solution 2: Verify Your Login Credentials
1. Double-check your email address for typos
2. Use the "Forgot Password" option to reset your password
3. Check your spam folder for the password reset email

Solution 3: Clear App Cache
iPhone: Delete and reinstall the app
Android: Go to Settings → Apps → SparkFast → Clear Cache

Solution 4: Update the App
1. Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android)
2. Search for SparkFast
3. Tap "Update" if available

My Account Was Deleted or I Lost My Data

If your fasting history appears to be missing:
1. Ensure you're logged into the correct account (Google, Apple, or Email)
2. Check if you previously used a different sign-in method
3. Contact support at support@sparkfast.app with your account email

Sign In With Apple/Google Not Working

1. Ensure you're signed into your Apple ID or Google account on your device
2. Check that SparkFast has permission to use Sign In with Apple/Google in your device settings
3. Try restarting your device and attempting sign-in again

Fasting Timer Problems

My Fast Timer Is Not Accurate

If your fasting timer shows incorrect times:

Check Your Device Time Settings

1. Go to your device Settings → Date & Time
2. Enable "Set Automatically"
3. Restart SparkFast

Timezone Issues
If you recently traveled or changed timezones:
1. Close SparkFast completely
2. Ensure your device timezone is correct
3. Reopen the app - the timer should adjust automatically

I Accidentally Ended My Fast Early

Unfortunately, once a fast is ended, it cannot be resumed. However:
1. You can start a new fast immediately
2. Your completed fast (even if short) is still recorded in your history
3. Use the backdated fast feature to log fasts you forgot to track

My Fast Overlaps With a Previous Fast

SparkFast now includes smart overlap resolution:
1. When starting a backdated fast that overlaps with a previous one, you'll see a prompt
2. Choose "Adjust & Start" to automatically shorten the previous fast
3. This maintains accurate records without blocking your new fast

The App Shows I'm Fasting But I Already Ended It

1. Pull down on the main screen to refresh
2. Check your internet connection
3. Force close and reopen the app
4. If the issue persists, try logging out and back in

Health Data Sync Issues

Apple Health Is Not Syncing With SparkFast

Step 1: Check Permissions
1. Open iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices
2. Find SparkFast and tap on it
3. Ensure all data types are enabled (Weight, Steps, Sleep, etc.)

Step 2: Re-enable Health Sync
1. Open SparkFast → Settings → Health Sync
2. Toggle Apple Health off, then on again
3. Confirm permissions when prompted

Step 3: Force Sync
1. Open the Apple Health app
2. Make a small change (like adding a weight entry)
3. Return to SparkFast and pull down to refresh

Google Fit Is Not Syncing (Android)

Step 1: Check Google Fit Permissions
1. Open SparkFast → Settings → Health Sync
2. Tap "Connect Google Fit"
3. Grant all requested permissions

Step 2: Verify Google Fit Is Working
1. Open Google Fit app separately
2. Ensure it's recording your data
3. Return to SparkFast and refresh

Step 3: Check Google Account
1. Ensure you're using the same Google account in both apps
2. Try disconnecting and reconnecting Google Fit in SparkFast settings

Weight Data Not Appearing  

1. Verify your scale is syncing to Apple Health or Google Fit first
2. Check that weight read permissions are enabled for SparkFast
3. Weight syncs once daily - allow time for data to appear
4. Manually add weight in SparkFast if sync isn't working

Glucose/Ketone Data Not Syncing 

For Keto-Mojo or other glucose monitor users:
1. Ensure your device is synced to Apple Health first
2. Check that glucose read permissions are granted to SparkFast
3. SparkFast reads blood glucose data from Apple Health and Ketones data from Keto-Mojo
4. Manual entry is available in the Metabolic Tracking section

Notification Problems

I'm Not Receiving Fasting Reminders

iPhone Users:
1. Go to Settings → Notifications → SparkFast
2. Enable "Allow Notifications"
3. Enable Banners, Sounds, and Badges as desired
4. Check that Focus/Do Not Disturb isn't blocking notifications

Android Users:
1. Go to Settings → Apps → SparkFast → Notifications
2. Enable notifications
3. Disable battery optimization for SparkFast (Settings → Battery → SparkFast → Don't optimize)

In-App Settings:
1. Open SparkFast → Settings → Notifications
2. Ensure your desired reminder types are enabled
3. Set your preferred reminder times

Notifications Are Coming at the Wrong Time

1. Check your device timezone is set correctly
2. Review notification schedules in SparkFast → Settings → Notifications
3. Disable and re-enable the specific notification type
4. Ensure "Set Automatically" is enabled for your device time

Hydration Reminders Not Working 

1. Go to SparkFast → Settings → Notifications
2. Verify hydration reminders are enabled
3. Check that you've set your daily water goal
4. Ensure the app has notification permissions

Subscription and Payment Issues 

My Subscription Isn't Being Recognized

Step 1: Restore Purchases
1. Open SparkFast → Settings
2. Tap "Restore Purchases"
3. Wait for confirmation

Step 2: Verify Subscription Status

iPhone: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → SparkFast
Android: Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → SparkFast

Step 3: Check Payment Method
Ensure your payment method is valid and not expired

 I Was Charged Incorrectly

1. Verify your subscription plan (Monthly vs Annual) in your device settings
2. Check for duplicate subscriptions
3. For refund requests:  
-Apple: Report a Problem at reportaproblem.apple.com  
-Google Play: Request refund in Google Play Order History

How to Cancel My Subscription

iPhone:
1. Open Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
2. Tap SparkFast
3. Tap "Cancel Subscription"
Android:
1. Open Google Play Store
2. Tap Menu → Subscriptions
3. Find SparkFast and tap "Cancel"

Note: Canceling stops future charges but you retain access until the current period ends.

Promo Code Not Working

1. Ensure the promo code is entered exactly as provided (case-sensitive)
2. Check if the promo code has expired
3. Verify the code is for your platform (iOS or Android)
4. Contact support@sparkfast.app if the issue persists

App Performance Issues 

SparkFast Is Running Slowly

Free Up Device Resources:
1. Close other apps running in the background
2. Restart your device
3. Ensure you have at least 500MB of free storage
Update the App:
1. Check for SparkFast updates in your app store
2. Update to the latest version for performance improvements
Clear App Data (Android):
1. Settings → Apps → SparkFast → Storage
2. Tap "Clear Cache" (not Clear Data - this keeps your account)

The App Keeps Crashing

1. Update SparkFast to the latest version
2. Restart your device
3. If crashes continue, reinstall the app:  
- Note: Your data is saved in the cloud, so you won't lose your fasting history
4. Report persistent crashes to support@sparkfast.app with your device model and iOS/Android version 

App Won't Open or Gets Stuck on Loading

1. Force close the app and reopen
2. Check your internet connection
3. Restart your device
4. Reinstall SparkFast if the issue persists

Apple Watch Issues 

SparkFast Not Appearing on Apple Watch

1. Ensure your Apple Watch is paired with your iPhone
2. Open the Watch app on iPhone → My Watch → SparkFast
3. Enable "Show App on Apple Watch"
4. Restart both your iPhone and Apple Watch

Watch App Not Syncing With iPhone 

1. Ensure both devices are connected (Bluetooth and Wi-Fi)
2. Open SparkFast on your iPhone first
3. Force close and reopen the Watch app
4. Check that both apps are updated to the latest version
